Design choices for my website.

I like a design idea I call "normalized minimalism" (which may already be invented, named and described) which is minimalism for beauty and practicality sake and not just for minimalism sake. So as a result "normalized minimalism":
• does not sacrifice comfort, so the result is less minimal to be more simple to use and enjoy
• does not sacrifice beauty rather lets beauty and minimalism influence each other instead of forcing one to dominate the other

That is why I themed this site in 🗿 neo-brutalist style. And also because it is the first css I ever made and this style is easiest to write for first timer yet I still find it good looking.

The site does not run (and never will) any JS, PHP, CMS system and what not because it is unneeded bloat and I do not know how it ticks. When I host something on my server I hate when I do not know how it works and what it does (at least to some realistic modicum). And lets be honest that many of users who adventurously run complicated CMS systems don’t either.. Less is more secure.

A simple website provides for me as a bonus to it’s simplicity a full learning experience and I believe I can do on it everything cms can do I just have to do it myself.
For comfort sake I just use âž¡ WebKit Word to help me write the articles.

I also made sure the site can render on Firefox 52 (the last supported by Windows XP), because I like old stuff. But I will not torture myself so much as to go below that. Though some memes and videos on the site will not render on it because of unsupported multimedia formats (you can use VLC plugins maybe ?).

And what about you, will you make your own ? It is not that hard, I learned it in few days. And I am glad that I spend my time on something better than just rotting and scrolling.
I do really feel positive effects on my mind as a result.

I believe I made modicum of change in my immediate digital surroundings by moving from "Internet" that is consolidated on few digital platforms owned mega corporations that run very bad algorithms on them and which will soon be controlled in distopian manner with governmental digital identity verification systems.
